Decatur, GA, native Backwud Marc, traveler of music was exposed to composition very early developing him into the creative he is today. The wonders of diverse cultures, sound variety and impacting lovers of music has influenced his appreciation of the art. “I just want to make a living making songs. Whatever doors open up from me doing music, I’ll most definitely walk through them proudly”, Backwud Marc. The journey began in 1998 collaborating with artist ShoNuff, forming Da Backwudz. But it was in 2005, when the duo caught the eye of Atlanta super producer Dallas Austin ultimately signing the group to his label, Rowdy Records. While working on the debut album, Craft earned the opportunity to also experiment with other hip-hop producers such as DJ Toomp, Rico Wade and Mr. D.J. Other high profiled talents included Nas, Slim Thug, Bun B, Big Gipp, Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown and George Clinton. Those experiences fueled new inspirations moving his career in a different direction as a solo artist. Self-discovery allows Craft to create his own style and genre of music termed Solar-Hop. More recent events involve Back to Back, new music and collaborations on album The Space Between produced by Spittzwell the Beat God. Craft is also featured on the song I’m Here in collaboration with artist Tuki Carter. And, joint collaboration on the song Exhale, with artist Shon Lucy, has earned media placement on consecutive Playlists (March, 2019) of official NBA DJ for the Portland Trailblazers, D.J. OG One (David Jackson).
